The Costa do Sol comprehends an area known as Região dos Lagos, around Saquarema and Araruama Lagoons, in the municipalities of Maricá, Saquarema, Araruama, Iguaba Grande, Arraial do Cabo, Cabo Frio and Armação dos Búzios. It’s covered by restinga, marshes and shoreline habitats.

 

Main targets: Restinga Antwren (endemic to Rio de Janeiro), Red-legged Honeycreeper, Hangnest Tody-Tyrant, Crested Doradito, Gray-hooded Gull, Chilean Flamingo, White-cheeked Pintail, Tropical Mockingbird, Roseate Spoonbill.
