Itatiaia
Itatiaia National Park is the oldest Brazilian national park. Located in the mountainous region of Serra da Mantiqueira within the municipalities of Itatiaia and Resende, bordering São Paulo and Minas Gerais states. There are headquarters in the lowest elevations (montane Atlantic Forest) - where accommodations can be made with Ypê or Donati Hotels - and also in the highlands (elfin Atlantic Forest and altitudinal fields). Admission is charged.
Main targets: Frilled Coquette, White-throated Hummingbird, Surucua Trogon, Red-breasted Toucan, Black-and-Gold Cotinga, Itatiaia Spinetail, Magpie Tanager, Red-rumped Cacique, Black-capped Piprites, Black-eared Fairy, Ferruginous Antbird, Slaty Bristlefront, White-rumped Hawk, Thick-billed Saltator, Buff-throated Warbling-Finch, Olive-green Tanager, Pileated Parrot.
