Carmo is located in the Paraíba do Sul River Valley next to the border of Minas Gerais. The birding is done in a free-access road that crosses a patch of semi-deciduous Atlantic Forest in the rural area of the city. 

 

Main targets: Three-toed Jacamar, Rio de Janeiro Antbird, Southern Antpipit, Gray-eyed Greenlet, Serra Antwren, Black-necked Aracari, Blue-winged Macaw, Scaled Woodcreeper, Hooded Tanager.
